Lockport, NY is a small city located along the Erie Canal in western New York. Politically, it is part of Niagara County and is represented at the local level by a Mayor and City Council members. The current mayor of Lockport is Michael W. Tucker, who was first elected in 2017. The City Council consists of seven members, each representing one of seven wards within the city. All members are elected to four-year terms on a nonpartisan basis. Issues that have been addressed by the City Council recently include improved infrastructure, public safety measures, economic development initiatives, and community development programs.
